Hannah came to Tucson in late 2014 and to KXCI in early 2015 after nearly ten years as a DJ and producer at Seattle’s award-winning independent radio station KEXP. There she regularly filled in on the Afternoon Show and hosted the station’s local music show Audioasis for several years before becoming the founding producer and co-host of Seek & Destroy, the station’s specialty show devoted to hard rock and progressive metal. She also helped usher in KEXP’s now-iconic video programming, booking and producing countless live sessions for both Audioasis and Seek & Destroy.
Prior to entering the broadcast field, she maintained a high-profile career as a music journalist, writing regularly for several Northwest alt-weeklies as well as national publications, including Rolling Stone, SPIN, and BUST. She became the interim host of the Home Stretch, KXCI’s drive-time show, in the spring of 2015 and became the show’s permanent host that summer. She now overseas content development for KXCI, including booking and producing video shoots of local and national touring artists performing live on the air, and chairs the station’s Grants Committee. She also hosts and produces the new KXCI mini-program “This Town”, a segment devoted to examining how Tucson is evolving culturally, socially, and economically with an emphasis on highlighting ways in which our city can grow while preserving its historic roots and remaining a sustainable, affordable environment for a diverse population.
